KM Surgical & Dermatology Associates have experienced dermatologists who will check your skin head to toe. We photograph and record your moles/ lesions on your patient file, this the same as mole mapping.

If you have any moles or lesions of concern we can biopsy or surgically excise these in our Day Stay Accredited Surgery theatres.  More complex skin cancers on the face and neck can be removed with margin controlled surgery (Mohs surgery).

Melanoma is a skin cancer which can spread rapidly and can kill if not treated early. The first step to learning about melanoma is knowing about moles and what to look for on your skin.

New Zealand and Australia have one of the highest rates of melanoma in the world and it is the fourth most common cancer diagnosed in New Zealand. Early identification of melanoma is essential and can save a life.

Your dermatologist can assess your skin and risk profile, and give you important advice.

Please note we have a 6 months wait list for a mole check appointment with one of our dermatologists. Please phone us on 03 3799467 to make an appointment.
