I trained as a nurse in Invercargill. I graduated with a Comprehensive Nursing Diploma in 1995. I then took the opportunity to travel to the UK to further my nursing career.
My dermatology journey started in 1998 at Buckshealthcare where I worked in the 12 bedded specialist dermatology ward. From there my interest progressed to photodermarmatology including lasers. I moved to Barnet and Chase Farm hospital to become the Skin Cancer Specialist Nurse.
During that time, I completed my Masters in Dermatology Skills and Treatment. An opportunity came up in the hospital where I began my career so I became the Clinical Lead Nurse for the dermatology department at Buckshealthcare.
Having a young family, my husband and I decided to return to New Zealand for a better work life balance. I was very pleased to then start working at KM Surgical as it has state of the art purpose-built facilities. The work environment is wonderful and it has a close-knit team.
Keryn works with us one day per month and runs a dermatology nurse clinic.
