Tom Middelburg MD, PhD, FNZDSI
Consultant Dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon
Tom completed his dermatology training at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in 2011, which included the full range of medical dermatology, lasers, venous disease and skin cancer. Tom has a sub-speciality interest in managing complex skin cancer and in immunosuppressed patients. He has more than 10 years’ experience as a Mohs surgeon and is an accredited Mohs trainer. His PhD thesis was on photodynamic therapy and its application in skin cancer, and Tom has authored over 50 articles in medical journals. He used to be an active chess player and holds the title of International Master, having played at the highest national and European level. Tom moved to New Zealand in 2016 with his partner Marijke and loves his new country for its friendly people, its beautiful scenery and fantastic opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
